AC Replacement: What to Consider

Philadelphia Air Conditioning Replacement

If a major part breaks down in an old AC unit, you may want to consider a total replacement. For example, an evaporator coil is a critical component in an air conditioning system. Without it absorbing heat and moisture from the air, your air conditioner simply won’t cool your home. Evaporator coils and condenser coils tend to erode as they age, making them less efficient, and eventually, unable to function. In some systems, replacing these parts is a viable option, but in others, something as innocent as a new part can cause further complications down the road. A common example of this is when customers would need a part replacement that is so old, it is no longer sold. Or in another instance, a new part with a much higher SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating might be too incompatible with an old HVAC unit.

If you do decide on a replacement, our Philadelphia HVAC technicians will assess your unique situation, including the size of your building, your ductwork, and any other factors that may dictate what kind of AC unit you need. We’ll work with you to find the most appropriate replacement option that is energy efficient and built to last you well into the future.
